Not being able to have a child (secondary infertility) is more common that primary infertility, about 60% of infertile couples are secondary infertile. Here at The Acupuncture Studio we never get drawn into value judgements and we do treat secondary infertility every bit as seriously as primary infertility.

We have treated many women with secondary infertility and helped them a great deal. We provide an understanding ear and never underestimate their distress or their particular problems. 

Case Study: Secondary Infertility

This patient was 34 years old and had conceived her first daughter within two months of trying, four years earlier. She had a straightforward pregnancy but had lost a lot of blood shortly after labour. She found it difficult to cope in the early weeks initially struggling to breastfeed. When she came to see me she explained that she and her husband had started trying to conceive their second child when she stopped breastfeeding. It was now two years down the line and nothing had happened - all her friends were pregnant again and she felt desperate and anxious. 

Over the course of treatment her mood lifted and she became less 'fixed' on achieving a pregnancy and more focused on regaining her own strength and energy. Happily she conceived on the fourh cycle of treatment and had a baby boy nine months later with no complications.
